Meet the BBQ Professor. If you’re ready to up your grilling and smoking skills, then there’s few out there better to learn from than Pitmaster Tuffy Stone. Based in Richmond, Va. with a catering business and restaurant, this chef has taken his self-taught knowledge of grilling and smoking all around the world and won numerous BBQ contests in the process with Cool Smoke, the name of his competition team. For Tuffy, it’s not about bravado and barbecue sauce; it’s about hard work, precision, and putting the time in to learn a craft that continues to inspire him today. Although we can’t come together over a big plate of ribs at Memphis in May this year, we can gather around the grill with those at home, so get inspired to light those coals, and let Tuffy hand you the match.
